The Rival's Aria

A one-woman show written by Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt, performed by Biliana Petrinska and directed by Stoyan Radev. Nearing the twilight of her career, opera diva Carlota Berlumi sets out to understand the mysterious pull of her great rival, Maria Callas — the singer whose fame she could never surpass. Written specially for the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, the play is based on Schmitt's novel and marks the 100th anniversary of Callas's birth.
