Negatives – (Dis)positives: a photography exhibition by Galina Yotova

Photographs by Galina Yotova — black-and-white images taken years ago and kept as negatives. In the artist's words, they show "the face and body of a woman who took on the role of model," the result of shared experience between her and the photographer. Printed on cheap paper in cheap frames, "creased and worn by the ordinary time of ordinary life." Yotova explains that from such a negative one can copy reality and tell a story — but falsehood can also show through, letting one play artistically and invent a new, possible but non-existent story.
