About the venue
Kvadrat 500 is the newest and largest building of the National Gallery, opened in May 2015 in the former State Printing House (later home to the Gallery for Foreign Art), next to St. Alexander Nevsky Square. Its 28 halls across four floors display over 2,000 works from the gallery's holdings — Bulgarian fine art from the late 19th and 20th centuries alongside European, Asian, African, and American art.
How to get there
The gallery is located behind St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, at 1 "19th February" St. The nearest metro station is "Sofia University" (about a 10-minute walk), and numerous tram, bus, and trolleybus lines along Vasil Levski Blvd stop near Orlov Most (Eagles' Bridge) square, roughly 700–800 m away.
