The New Dance Hall

"The New Electric Ballroom" receives its Bulgarian premiere in a staging by director Ivaylo Hristov, after the play by Irish playwright Enda Walsh. Three women confined to a small house by the Irish sea endlessly replay a long-past night at the dance hall — the only reality left to them, one of impossible love. Explosive, near-grotesque humour is woven together with unexpectedly lyrical, almost poetic language in this absurdist comedy about the painful triviality of our times.
