In Aleko's Footsteps with a Friend 2026

'In Aleko's Footsteps with a Friend' is the largest team mountain race with a social cause, historically based on the first ascent of Cherni Vrah in 1889 by Aleko Konstantinov together with Nikola Tantilov. It takes place on Mount Vitosha on 3–4 October 2026. Take part by running or cycling, individually or as a team in the 'Family', 'Friends', 'Neighbours' and 'Colleagues' categories. Running: short course 11 km / 800 m D+ (Vladaya – Pancho Tomov hut – Vladaya, 5 hours total cut-off time) and long course 27 km / 1350 m D+ (Zheleznitsa – Cherni Vrah – Vladaya, 9 hours total cut-off time). Cycling: short course 20 km / 550 m D+ (5 hours total cut-off time) and long course 45 km (7 hours total cut-off time). In 2026 the event supports the 'Ela i ti' foundation and their cause of a bus for people with disabilities.
