Eastern Bloc: exhibition by Alexander Predov

The Eastern Bloc is more than a political term — it is the image of an era and a system in which millions of people inhabited identical blocks and façades yet led entirely different personal lives. Alexander Predov's exhibition (NBU's "Theatre" programme, 35th graduating class) turns the "eastern bloc" into a kind of archive of the contradiction between the collective and the personal, using cardboard models and photographs to revisit these buildings and recover forgotten details, surfaces and traces of human presence.
