The Unknown Bulgarians

„NEPOZNATITE BALGARI“ (The Unknown Bulgarians) is the newest large-scale and inspiring production of the Bulgarian National Folklore Ensemble — a natural continuation of the highly successful „Tova e Balgaria“ and „Osmoto Chudo“ and an impressive finale of the trilogy devoted to the Bulgarian spirit, traditions and enduring identity. After years in which the ensemble told stories of Bulgaria's glory, strength and miracles, the spotlight now turns to those corners of the homeland that rarely take centre stage. The show takes the audience into little-known ethnographic regions, where tradition lives with its unadulterated rhythm — in song, in the step of the dance, in the colours of the folk costume and in the sounding dialect. The audience will experience authentic folk music with a distinct regional sound, impressive choreography recreating the spirit of different communities, rare and beautiful folk costumes, and scenes that reveal unsuspected facets of the Bulgarian folk character. The show is not simply a concert but an emotional journey — a meeting with one's roots, with memory and with the strength of the Bulgarian community through the centuries. Through dynamic direction, powerful scenography and virtuosic performance, the artists create a true celebration of Bulgarian culture. Following the premiere on 21 October 2025 in Sofia, „NEPOZNATITE BALGARI“ will be performed before the capital's audience for the second time, giving spectators a new chance to become part of this grand and thrilling experience.
