About the venue

Bulgaria Hall is Sofia's principal concert venue and home to the Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra and the National Philharmonic Choir. The building is part of the historic "Bulgaria" complex, built in 1935–1937 to a design by architects Stancho Belkovski and Ivan Danchov and declared a monument of culture in 1978. It houses a large pipe organ (Schuke, Potsdam, 1974, 55 stops) and hosts symphonic concerts throughout the season, including visiting international orchestras and soloists.

How to get there

The hall is in central Sofia at 1 Aksakov Street, between Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd and Rakovski Street, near the National Assembly. The nearest metro stations are Serdika and Sofia University — both roughly an 8–10 minute walk; many bus and tram lines stop nearby on Vasil Levski Blvd and Tsar Osvoboditel Blvd.
