HUGO RACE FATALISTS

Hugo Race has one of the most hypnotic voices of the contemporary Melbourne scene — in the early 1980s he co-wrote an iconic song with The Bad Seeds. His music draws on influences ranging from John Lee Hooker and Ali Farka Touré to Giya Kancheli, ambient atmospheres, new wave and psychedelic rock. Hugo Race Fatalists holds a special place in his body of work and in the history of "Alarma Punk Jazz," and the band has not been seen or heard here in more than 9 years.
