A Murderous Comedy

A comic murder-mystery from Theatre Vazrajdane, based on the play by Robin Hawdon (translated and directed by Ventsislav Asenov), set during the Cannes Film Festival — on the day of the premiere of her new film, screen star Grace Gervais is found murdered on the terrace of a luxury hotel. The suspects include a temperamental actor, a jealous manager, a striking blonde, and a novice thief, each with their own account and willing to lie to get hold of the victim's diamonds, while the hotel manager, Monsieur Bonifas (an unproven descendant of Hercule Poirot), tries to uncover the truth amid the general muddle of lies. The cast includes Lili Shomova, Boyan Mladenov, Anatoli Lazarov, Georgi Nyagolov, Kostadinka Aratlakova/Nikol Otashliyska, and Yordan Rasin, honored with the "Golden Kukerikon 2025" award for Best Actor for his role as Monsieur Bonifas.
