About the venue

The Sofia Opera and Ballet is Bulgaria's principal venue for opera and ballet, housed in a building on Knyaz Alexander Dondukov Boulevard in central Sofia. The institution traces its roots to 1908, while the current building was completed in 1953 and renovated in 2008. It stages a regular repertoire of classical and contemporary opera and ballet productions, with a main hall seating around 950 people.

How to get there

The nearest stop is the "National Opera" tram stop (tram lines 20 and 22), right in front of the building on Knyaz Alexander Dondukov Boulevard. It is also a 10-15 minute walk from the "Sofia University" and "Serdika" metro stations, and trolleybus line 9 stops nearby at St. Alexander Nevsky Square.
