About the venue
Open Stage 'Tear and Laughter' carries the name of Sofia's first professional drama troupe, founded in 1892 — the forerunner of the National Theatre. Today it operates as a producing house without a permanent company, administratively part of the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, staging a varied repertoire of contemporary comedies and dramas in its building on G. S. Rakovski St. 127, declared a cultural monument in 1978.
How to get there
The nearest metro station is Serdika (lines M1/M2), about a 5-minute walk. Buses and trolleybuses (including lines 5, 6, 7, 9, 20) stop nearby at 'Satirical Theatre' and 'Alexander Nevsky Square', roughly a 4-minute walk from the theatre.
