The Black Ball

A triptych by Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, inspired by Lorca's unfinished work, weaves together 1932, 1937 and 2017 and the stories of three men caught up in the long struggle for queer rights. Co-produced by Pedro Almodóvar, with Penélope Cruz and Glenn Close. It won the Best Director award at Cannes 2026.
