Every Brilliant Thing

"All the Wonderful Things" is a one-man show based on the play by Duncan Macmillan and Jonny Donahoe, directed by Vladimir Penev and performed by Boyko Krastanov. The story follows a six-year-old boy whose mother is in hospital because she can't find a reason to be happy — so he starts a list of "all the wonderful things" worth living for: ice cream, water-pistol fights, staying up past bedtime to watch TV, the colour yellow, stripy things… The list takes on a life of its own as the boy grows up and comes to know himself through it. The play is about the lengths we're willing to go to for the people we love, striking a balance between life's struggles and celebrating everything good in it.
