Bulgarians of Olden Times

The operetta “Bulgarians of Olden Times”, based on Lyuben Karavelov's novella with music by Asen Karastoyanov, gently and humorously portrays the customs of Bulgarians during the National Revival. At its centre is the love story of Pavlin and Lilyana, whose fathers feud over petty disputes and stand in the way of their engagement. The three-hour production, with an intermission, is staged on the main stage.
