Documentary Film "49,172"

A documentary by director Plamen Petkov telling the extraordinary story of how Bulgaria's Jews were saved during World War II. Through interviews with survivors from three continents and previously unseen archival footage and documents — including material from Steven Spielberg's collection in Los Angeles and Yad Vashem in Jerusalem — the film reveals the true faces of both the persecutors and the rescuers of Bulgaria's Jews.
