The Constant Wife (Charming Sinners)

"The Constant Wife" (Charming Sinners) is a comedy based on a play by Somerset Maugham, directed by Boyka Velkova, who calls it "a brilliant example of a piquant comedy of intrigue" built around an inevitable love triangle. The plot moves briskly, with unexpected twists that provoke both surprise and laughter, yet beneath its comic surface lies Maugham's concern that "the well-dressed, well-fed modern person, living in luxurious homes, falls into the trap of their own illusions." The production asks whether constancy in love is possible and whether modern people can truly be devoted; it won three awards at the 2025 MTF "Comedy Days" in Kumanovo, for best actress, set design, and direction.
