The House of Wrath

Theatre Vazrajdane becomes "The House of Wrath," in which eight women, shut away in mourning and forbidden any pleasure or joy, search for their own answers about the freedom of human will and the path to happiness. Based on Garcia Lorca's "The House of Bernarda Alba" together with poetry by Lorca, Rafael Alberti, Miguel Hernandez, and Diana Dobreva, the production explores the clash between the women's suppressed desires and the restrictions and taboos imposed by society, as well as love — at once the most yearned-for and most destructive force within the household's confined space. The show features original music, costumes, and set design.
