Kvartal Festival 2026: The Future of the Old Town

KvARTal Festival 2026 "The Future of the Old Town" — a festival of urban history and culture turning Sofia's historic centre into a big urban stage of culture, heritage, architecture, music, art, food and a conversation about the city's future. From 18 to 20 September the festival spreads across several pedestrian zones (Triaditsa, Serdika, Veslets, Exarch Josif, Budapest streets) and over 60 locations — galleries, studios, cultural spaces, restaurants and bars. Highlights: KvARTal Square (5 Serdika St.), Arena di Musica (1 Budapest St.), the first-ever opening of Nivo Art Space, the former Royal Cinema (16 Maria Luiza Blvd.), a children's archaeology tour of Ancient Serdika, and the Mish Mash Fest bazaar on Banski Square.
