The Duel

The Duel by Ivan Vazov, directed by Marius Kurkinski, set and costume design by Nikola Toromanov, music by Emiliyan Gatsunov-Elbi (Emiliyan Gatsov-Elbi). "The duel that never stops — in us and in the world. A duel over honour, which in this case is the familiar, merciless pride. Pride, the most dangerous madness for the human soul. The new state seems to flourish, yet just as quickly decays. The flame of the revivalist spirit of liberation is dying out, exhausted by the influence of the great powers and by the thirst for power and lawlessness that has appeared among Bulgaria's new notables." The production premiered in February 2021.
